Marvin Sapp Gets 2008 BET Award: - (June, 2008)

On the 24th June 08 a surprised Marvin Sapp returned to the stage after a killer performance - "Never Would've Made It", to collect his BET Award for Best Gospel Artist. Other nominees in that category were The Clark Sisters, Kirk Franklin, Deitrick Haddon and Trin-i-Tee 5:7.

The BET Awards, hosted by legendary comedian - D. L. Hugley kicked off with a startling performance by Usher and featured other performances by Alicia Keys, Nelly, Rihanna, Keisha Cole, T-pain, Lil Wayne, Ne-Yo and Chris Brown just to name a few. But all eyes and ears were attentive as Marvin ministered his heart felt rendition of "Never Would've Made It". A song writted in loving memory of his late father.
Marvin Sapp is a truely multifacited individual, known to many as Father, Preacher, Singer and Evangelist. As a verteran of Gospel music, Marvin has been singing since the age of four. His professional career peeked during the 90's with his membership in the famous Comissioned group, alongside co-minister Fred Hammond.

To-date Marvin has received numerous awards and nominations including Dove, Stellar, Grammy and Soul Train nominations. Today Marvin resides as a Pastor at the Lighthouse Full Life Centre Church.
